Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, California
Golden Gate Bridge, a Historical Landmark with a beautiful view of Pacific Ocean, Angel Island and Alcatraz Island.
Golden Gate is an iconic to San Francisco so you definitely have to stop to admire it at least once if you are staying in US or visiting to California ( from another country) for vacation.
I heard so much about this bridge since my schooling/ college days in India, saw it on TV and Hollywood movies but coming to California and seeing it every time with your eyes you still get awestruck. The view never gets old, believe me, I've been over this bridge many times in my lifetime via car and have walked on it too (too many times to count).
The bridge is only 1.7 miles long, but there are lot of people here to walk or visit this iconic structure. On the east side of the bridge are paths for the pedestrians while the west side of the bridge are for the bicyclists.
I would definitely recommend heading out on a weekday for a run, hike or evening picnics as the weekends are a bit too hectic, crowded and aren't as relaxing.
What to say it's Golden bridge!!!
On February 16, 1994, the Golden Gate Bridge, it has been declared as one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the ASCE (The American Society of Civil Engineers).
Be Aware! There is a toll. They will snap a photo of your car via electronic toll collection system and send you a bill. You will have 10 days or so to pay for the toll, once you receive it in the mail.
Ps: Best time to go is during summer because it can get very cold and windy during the winter.
There are many restaurants nearby and food shacks where u can go for a quick snack.
