Kennedy Space Center (NASA) - Our journey through space and science, Florida

Many years ago during a family trip to Florida, we took our space-loving teenager to explore NASA's Kennedy Space Center. My kid had been dreaming of this moment for years devouring books on physics since elementary and eagerly following every NASA website. Seeing the eyes light up as we approached the entrance, I knew this day would be special. I still remember the excitement the moment we walked through the gates and were greeted by the iconic Rocket Garden. I watched my teenager with eyes wide with awe as he stood among these towering giants of space exploration. He eagerly pointed out the various rockets, rattling off facts and stories he had learned over the years. As a parent, it was incredible to witness his passion come alive.  Next, we made our way to the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit. His excitement was contagious as he navigated the interactive displays explaining to us the intricacies of the shuttle's design. In that moment, I felt a swell of pride knowing that his

California State Railroad Museum, Sacramento, California

As you all know for now if you have read my previous travel articles in this blog that whenever I have time, I often go thru my family albums and recollect the good old memories and start writing in my blog for you all to have great experience whenever you visit these places.....πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ I remember someone in my friends' group suggested visiting the California State Railroad Museum @ Sacramento , and it had been many years since I'd visited this museum, but my my this turned out to be one highlight for my kid who loved all kinds of trains. If you are visiting Sacramento, you really need to experience the museum atleast once, as well as the surrounding attractions. It's a self-guided tour for 3-4 hours I guess depending on your interest and enjoy strolling along taking amazing photos of these trains. It was a great museum experience. I remember my kid was so excited and happy with all the trains and hands-on exhibitions. The marvelous displays of remarka

Florida - The Sunshine State !! 🌞 Top Attractions

We visited many places in US including Theme parks, beaches, lakes, waterfalls, mountain ranges, valleys and some unique places which were definitely worth seeing at least once.  Was going thru my photo album and came across our 10 days vacation @ Florida when we visited 7 years ago during Christmas holidays and I believe Florida is one the best place to visit although do not underestimate the Florida's high temperatures and the humidity throughout the year. The weather forecast would always be warm even during winter. Since we had 10 days vacation, we first landed in Orlando airport and we picked the following places/ itinerary on a road trip till east coast of Florida including many stops at various beaches, a day trip to Kennedy Space Center and few more detailed below.  I am still working on writing about each place in detail and will upload the article in the blog whenever possible . So, watch out for my latest updates regularly!!!😎 Orlando: • Universal Studio

Hoover Dam and Bridge, Nevada, USA

Image
When you think of Nevada, the name " Las Vegas " pops in everyone's head. The dazzling lights at night, casinos and the famous Vegas Strip. πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί Check my blog article on Las Vegas-   https://sk-digilance.blogspot.com/2021/06/las-vegas-strip-nevada-usa.html But, there are many places and landmarks in Nevada we generally tend to miss especially this historic landmark "Hoover Dam" , infront of  Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge or Hoover Dam Bypass @ Boulder City. Its a 40 minutes drive away from the Vegas strip. Whenever I visited Las Vegas in past, I would definitely visit Hoover Dam with an arch bridge and arch gravity dam which is a must see popular tourist destination when you go to Las Vegas in Nevada.  First time when I visited Hoover Dam many years ago, it was very impressive and even bigger, more massive than I imagined with an incredible structure and with largest hydroelectric power station.

Washington State Capitol Building, Olympia, Washington, USA

Image
We went to Capitol Building during a weekend in January this year and it's an unfortunate that the galleries for the Senate, House and Supreme Court building were not open (or may be due to Covid restrictions ) so, we couldn't get a tour of the capitol inside. I highly recommend taking your kids to see this masterpiece, a great place to visit at least once. I definitely appreciate the beauty of the building and landscaping. There are a few statues/monuments here as well along with huge walking grounds outside. I heard there are free tour every hour unfortunately we went there during wrong time. But will definitely go again some other day in future with my family to check gallery indoors, will take more photos and will write in detail about Washington State Capitol Building again. PS: Parking is on the street or visitor center in front of the building and paid at the kiosk, well worth the small amount you

Chabot Space & Science Center, Oakland, California

Image
It had been a couple of years since I visited Chabot Space & Science Center @ Oakland . When my son was a preschooler, we often used to take him to this museum which is exciting and educational to do since he was so much into Earth Science  esp. Solar system, galaxies, stars and so on.⭐🌞🌎 Chabot was founded as an observatory in 1883, now it offers visitors latest in hands-on interactive exhibits, push button displays and many Planetarium shows exploring the mysteries of the universe and on earth. 🌟🌠 The entrance ticket admission has an access to Chabot’s hands-on interactive exhibitions, a large full-dome Planetarium and a historic Observatory, a bit pricey but it was worth every penny. It has become our Bay Area's go-to destination. 🎫 There are several hands-on Exhibits like an exhibit about " the moon ", " Mars " are interesting. You could take your time walking through each exhibit. Saw some interesting close up items on shutt

Legoland - Carlsbad, California.

Image
I was going thru my travel photo albums for my blog when I came across an album of Legoland in California.  Although, I have been to Legoland many times since I have a son and loves building Legos till date. I wanted to share some photos and details of our Legoland 2- days trip ( we bought 2-days 3 parks Legoland hopper to Sea Life ticket Fast Pass) when we visited for the first time in 2010 during Christmas. We enjoyed and had such a great time a lot more than I thought we would so we have been frequently visiting Legoland since then. I'd say it's enjoyable for kids up to about age of 12, parents and grandparents. The park is generally packed with so many visitors, which should not have surprised to me as summer and winter holidays are the peak vacation for many families out of school.  Since recent few years on our frequent visit to this theme park , Legoland created an app and we were smart enough to be able to download their app on our phones, which allowed us to check for
