Bradford Island Visitor Center @ Bonneville, Oregon, USA

Image
I visited the Bonneville Dam , a National Historical Landmark few years ago which was the first Dam and Lock system with a spectacular view of the Columbia River Gorge is around 40 miles from Portland. Just wanted to share a slight history about the Bonneville dam which was shared by a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. This was the first dam built on the Columbia River in 1943 named after Benjamin Louis Eulalie de Bonneville (1796-1878), an American officer of US army who pioneered parts of the Oregon Trail and is noted for his expeditions of Oregon County. The Bradford Island Visitor Center , located alongside to the dam. This center has multi level floors ( sorry don't remember how many floors ) with various exhibits like history of the dam and local areas around, hydroelectric and many more. A viewing platform or the observation deck allows visitors to see the working turbines and generators of the hydroelectric dam. I also remember and

Multnomah Falls, Oregon, USA

This is one of the most beautiful fall I ever been apart from Yosemite Falls @ Yosemite National Park in California ( https://sk-digilance.blogspot.com/2021/09/yosemite-national-park-california-usa.html ) . I am really glad I went to this place few years before this pandemic started.πŸ™ƒ Multnomah Falls @ Columbia River Gorge is beautiful and majestic. It's worth a trip to see this breathtaking place and the road towards the falls is so relaxing and scenic. 🏞 You can also see Columbia River other side of the fall. I would highly recommend this waterfall as a MUST see place while you are in or visit Oregon. This waterfall is accessible from Columbia River Highway and Interstate 84. I am giving this place a 5 Star , ask me Why?πŸ€“ Because, it's close to other trails/waterfalls if you ever plan on being more adventurous. You can feel a sense of awe and longing along these wonderful trails and glorious scenes. Like something out of Tw

Pioneer Courthouse Square, Portland, Oregon

Image
It was sunny last weekend so, we decided to visit Portland, Oregon , we went to few sightseeing place one among them was Pioneer Courthouse Square , a public open place infront of Pioneer Courthouse - a federal building built in 1875. This square occupies 40,000-square-foot space which opened in 1984. We went to this place when we parked our car in the Fox Tower garage parking which costs $ 4/hr. and $8/ all day. Pioneer Courthouse Square is also nicknamed as Portland's Living room . It's a hub perfect for people walking around, sitting and relaxing. There was less crowd and it was mostly people just relaxing on the steps enjoying the outdoors view while wearing masks and maintaining social distancing. I heard this place hosts a farmer's market every week. Not sure if the tradition still continues during this Covid Pandemic. Generally many events are held at Pioneer Courthouse Square every year, some are free sh

Old Taste of India - food cart/kiosk, Portland, Oregon

Image
Last Saturday , we visited Portland, Oregon and we went to this amazing place for lunch known as Old Taste of India , a food cart/kiosk with a wide varieties of Indian edibles from curries & tandoori breads to wraps & appetizers. This kiosk is situated in downtown Portland opposite to " City of Portland permit center" building. We ordered Paneer Butter Masala, veggie wraps, Vegetarian biryani for take-away lunch and when I asked for mild spice, the woman at the counter (owner) is so sweet, made us a fresh batch which came out perfectly mild spiced with tasty paneer. The quality and quantity was superb for the price I paid for. Note - You should  definitely try their Indian Chai.  Attaching the Menu pics below for ur review. I wholeheartedly have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. Will definitely visit again whenever we visit Oregon. One of the best Indian food kiosk in Portland downtown! Stay Safe frie
