Japanese Tea Garden, San Francisco, California

Image
Having visited most of the major tourist attractions in California before, we thought we would go to some place relaxing after visiting de Young Museum, an Art museum in San Francisco. Check this link for the details to visit major tourist attractions in California - https://sk-digilance.blogspot.com/2021/12/california-golden-state-top-attractions.html So, we visited the Japanese Tea Garden @ San Francisco , just a short walk from “de Young Museum” and “the Academy of Sciences”. We enjoyed this peaceful gorgeous gardens about 3 acres for a short self-guided walk with no map in hand (mind you πŸ˜‰  you have to guess your way around) with very interesting structures influenced by Buddhist and Shinto belief to see πŸ―! I loved to see the koi fishes in the pond. I expected more, but again it’s a garden with manicured shrubs, winding paths, bridges, pagodas, gift shop and a cafe. Perfect scenery place for you if you love photography and short time peace from the

Enchanting Fall !! 🍁

Image
Everywhere I look, I can see the visible changes in nature as it prepares for Fall/ Autumn season, temperatures are getting cooler and breezy, leaves changing into rust-colors and strewn all over on roads and highways.  For me this is the most incredible time of the year apart from Spring with vibrant hues of yellow, orange, red and brown. "Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower." - ALBERT CAMUS As most of us know, on September 21st each year, we embrace the fall season with the arrival of the fall equinox (also known as the autumnal equinox ). Born and growing up in a cosmopolitan city in India, I hardly saw any greenery around my house so, I did miss the beauty of the nature during the seasonal changes. But, now living in US almost two decades, made me see and enjoy the nature near my home or during my travels particularly beautiful and colorful flowers blooming in Spring from March to May, Fall/autumnal leaf color changing to vibrant

A hot Cuppa Chai on a Rainy Day !!! 🍡

Image
The quiet paved path on the road infront of my house began to dampen quickly with the sudden rain fall since dawn today and I am sitting in my front yard sipping hot cup of Chai on a rainy day watching a view of greenery around me as if nature has come alive. It is just mid-morning now as the sun struggles to make its presence behind a thick sheath of clouds.☁ The memory of my childhood doubled down on me (and so I'm penning down my thoughts in this blog ) when I was recalling my past where I would enjoy the simple pleasures of rainy day like eating snacks- vegetable samosas, onion pakora, Maggie noodles πŸœ or simple plain biscuits along with my favorite masala chai/tea, a perfect treat I deserved after a hectic day of studies/work. Playing in the rain while coming from school or college or office.☔ Such a fond memories!! Chai with a bite on the samosas or fried fitters platter (either Onions, Green chilies, Potatoes, Cauliflower, Cabbage or bre

Diablo Lake Overlook, Rockport, Washington, USA

We recently travelled to North Cascades National Park (  https://sk-digilance.blogspot.com/2021/08/north-cascades-national-park-newhalem.html )  since it was a sunny day, I meet few very friendly Rangers @ North Cascades National Park visitor center , when asked about nearby vista points along North Cascades Highway 20, one of the Ranger recommended us few stops @ Diablo Lake Overlook, Washington Pass, Gorge Creek Overlook. So after spending some time @ North Cascades National Park, we went to Gorge Creek Overlook and then to Diablo Lake Overlook.  Diablo Lake Overlook is so far my favorite and is probably one of the more popular vista point along Highway 20 . Its 2.5 hrs. drive from Seattle and almost 20-30 mins drive from North Cascades National Park . We parked in the large parking area on the north side of highway. There were 3-4 information plaques about the area attracting the visitors. I enjoyed walking around and the overlook of the lake was the most bew

North Cascades National Park, Newhalem, Washington, USA

Wild, beautiful and luxuriant park with majestic mountains and adding an inhabitant and rustic feeling to it, making an overall combination of North Cascades National Park ( I've seen this weekend ) describing in one word - Stunning !!  I have been to many places in US, but I have never seen such a magnificent and majestic views of North Cascades. Its approximately 2 hrs. from Seattle and almost bordering Canada approximately an hour or so. I'm not sure why North Cascades National Park is one of the least visited parks in the Washington State. Its on Highway State Route 20 and this park has lots of developed campgrounds and trails. There is no entrance fee to North Cascades National Park.  I meet few very friendly Rangers @ North Cascades National Park center, they said the visitor center is open throughout summer 9 am to 5 pm with all amenities available, including clean restrooms, drinking water fountains and a gift shop.
