Leavenworth, Washington State, US
Two weeks ago, we went to Leavenworth in Washington State and believe me I have two words to describe this paradise on Earth (at least to me ). 🤍💙
Picturesque perfect !!!!😍
This beautiful Bavarian charm style village @ Washington is quite similar to Bavaria in Germany which I heard is the most popular travel destinations with a mix of natural scenery, sensational authentic flavored restaurants and distinctive German culture.
Leavenworth is 2.5 hrs. drive from Seattle, You can take freeway I-90 or US-2 to reach this magical town with a view surrounded by Alps-looking cascade mountains 🏔 and alpine lakes. It's winter wonderland with a plenty of winter activities to enjoy for both adults and kids⛄🏂. Its been a top tourist destination in the Pacific Northwest. Of course Leavenworth is beautiful in all seasons perfect tourist destination with many events and festivals celebrated almost every month like Bavarian Ice festival, Spring festival, Ale festival, Oktoberfest, Christmas lighting festival, Autumn leaf festival, short films festival, Music festival and many more.
When we went two weeks ago, the whole town/village was sparkling with Christmas lights with snow shoveled to side streets and the view of snow capped mountains. Frankly speaking I was all together mesmerized with the scenic view of Cascade mountains, strolling the shops which is everything Bavarian style, many varieties of restaurants with German-style cuisines to choose from, along with the local stores of breweries and winemakers, all these which captured in my memory permanently.
We also had our lunch @ Colchuck's, the food was amazing, there is no doubt about that. There were delicious candy and ice cream shops too !! We visited both "The gingerbread factor", "The Danish Bakery" and had fun munching the edible light snacks while strolling.
We also experienced a tour at Nutcracker Museum with historic collection of thousands of nutcrackers.
Although we went for a day trip, we have seen many luxury cabins, lodges, hotels and holiday homes in and around Leavenworth.
PS: There are few paid parking lots and meter parking near to the main village. Note that there are few restrictions regarding parking and we cannot park on City streets during winter season.🚗🚗
