BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Chino Hills , California, United States.

A Mandir is a Hindu place of worship - a place of paramount peace
. There are many famous Hindu temples in US and I love to visit especially if its within my reach. Since, I love travelling I visited this beautiful place few years ago known as Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, a Hindu Temple belongs to the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (also Known as BAPS) located in Chino Hills, a city in the southwestern corner of San Bernardino County, California, United States.

This mandir completed its construction in 2012. It is situated on a 20-acre site with a 91-foot lotus-shaped pond featuring Shikhar, intricately carved domes with hundreds of hand-carved motifs. Amazing architecture both inside and outside of the temple. The inner sanctum of the mandir is enchanting, the entire room is made out of marble and it is filled to the brim with hand-carved motifs and sculpture work. Its known for first earthquake-proof Mandir in the world.

Of course, there are some rules to follow like :

1. You are more than welcome in taking photos outside the temple and with the temple's exterior. However, you can't photograph inside and we have to respect their wishes.

2. Suggest to wear dresses that cover the whole body from neck till knees/legs to respect Hindu Culture and traditions. Overall, dress like you would normally do, while erring on the side of conservative

3. Wear shoes that you can slip on and off easily because you'll be asked to take them off before entering the temple.

There is a Restaurant and grocery store right next to the visitor center, sells dozens of different types of authentic Indian food and healthy Snacks.

Mandir is free and open to the public. If you ever in or visiting California, go check it out yourself.

Photos can't describe the surreal experience !
